Florham Park, NJ - - Lapp USA announces receiving ISO-9001:2000 Certification, to continually improve their processes and provide their customers with excellence in service and products.

According to Lapp USA Quality Manager, Darlene McBride, certification to the new standard will “bring a process oriented structure to Lapp USA. The new standard includes a process model based on a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle which outlines the product and management control process.”

The previous 20-point format has been replaced. Four major processes make up ISO 9001-2000:
Section 5. Management Responsibility
Section 6. Resource Management
Section 7. Product Realization
Section 8. Measurement, Analysis and Improvement

The new scope of the ISO 9001-2000 certification is for the “Design of Custom Cable, Cutting to size of wire and cable, cable accessories and tools”, states Ms. McBride.

The new requirements place a higher focus on the customer of Lapp USA. Continual improvement plans are ongoing, throughout the organization to meet this requirement. Department managers establish measurable objectives to gauge the effectiveness of their processes. Measurement and monitoring activities are used to determine the performance of the quality management system and to continually improve those processes.
