EPIC® Remote Access Port Provides Environmentally Secure Access to CD-ROM Drive on the Factory Floor

Lapp System's remote access ports allows a standard CD-ROM, CD-R, or CD-RW drive to be installed in a control panel while providing independent access to the drive without opening the main control enclosure. It can also accommodate any other 5-1/4" peripheral device or external device that fits the 5-1/4" profile.

The CD-ROM port is easy to install and can be retrofitted into existing control panels. It allows program and data downloads/uploads to be done at the machine thereby eliminating the need to connect to a remote control location. It provides component access without opening the main control enclosure. This reduces downtime, eliminates operator exposure to electrical hazards inside the control panel, and minimizes environmental exposure resks to other control components.

The remote access port is applicable to all industries where PLC or computer controlled machinery and systems require large or frequent exchanges of operating programs and parameters. These include automatic machine tools, food batching and blending systems, and industrial process control systems.

The housing and cover is aluminum alloy finished with a silicon-free power coat and satisfies IP65/NEMA 4 requirements. All hardware is stainless steel except for the galvanized steel internal drive mounting brackets and Neoprene gaskets.
